Holy shit that's a bat

Bruce is startled by the sudden appearance of the "Window Bat."[2]

After countless hours of studying in his study in Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne realized that he needed to come up with a disguise to strike fear into the hearts of evil men. So he sat down in a chair next to a window to meditate on the subject.

He thought long and hard about what type of disguise he might wear, but he was unable to come up with an answer. Just then, a bat, flew in through the window he was sitting next to. This, "Window Bat" if you will, had him quite startled when it flew in. It likely lived in one of the caverns beneath the house.

But its' sudden appearance was not only fearsome, but it moved Bruce in another way as well--because he saw it as an omen. It was the sight of this Window Bat that gave him the idea to come up with some type of a bat-themed uniform.[3]

  1. This is conjecture. In the comic books, Barbatos claimed to be the bat that flew through the window into Wayne Manor that inspired Bruce Wayne to become Batman, but this was never confirmed, therefore his name is listed as an alias, not a real name. Also we're listing his species as a bat, not a demon, since we don't know for sure, and since that might not even be the way it was on Earth 1956.
