VHS videotapes were a popular video format from the 1980s to the early 2000s.

They proved to be more popular than their Betamax cousins, but by the time DVDs came out, they went the way of the dinosaur.

VHS was an acronym meaning Video Home System.

VHS in the real world

In the real world, VHS was developed by JVC.

There were many Super Friends videos that were released on VHS format.

One notable example was the four Super Powers videos: Superman, Batman, Superboy and Aquaman, all of which were released in 1985, and then re-released in 1996.
