The United States Forest Service is an agency within the United States Department of Agriculture. They assign forest rangers to the duties of protecting forests from fires and the preservation of wildlife within them, as well as many other countless duties. Smokey Bear is the mascot for the agency. And he has often been seen in television commercials encouraging people to be careful in the forest when it comes to the use of fire.
