Toonami is a programming block on Adult Swim, which focuses on action-oriented programs. Super Friends as well as other cartoons based on DC Comics characters has been featured on the programming block, along with Japanese anime such as Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. It has been hosted by Moltar and TOM, and introduced characters such as Sara, Clyde and Swayzak.

Super Friends was part of the block in October 1998, replacing the Thundercats. When Thundercats returned to Toonami in January of the following year, Super Friends was removed from Toonami, and hasn't been seen since.
