Toni was a young girl who was in a relationship with a boy named Daryl.

Earth 1956[]
When Daryl didn't win the Annual Hang Gliders Competition at Mount Metropolis, he wanted to prove to the other hang gliders that he's the best there is.
So he decides to jump off of a cliff that was posted as a place to dangerous to go hang gliding off of. This makes Toni scared so she jumps onto him, grabbing him while he's in the air, making it impossible for him to control his glider.
They go way off course, on a crash course for the volcano fissure. Luckily they are rescued by the Wonder Twins, and pulled out just as the volcano erupts![1]
