After they pass various dangers he reveals his plan was to have them collect for him the ingredients of a potion that will make it so he doesn't have to go back to the 5th Dimension. He still goes back when he says his name backwards because they figured out what he was up to and switched the ingredients.

- Aquaman, Superman, and Wonder Woman's depictions of the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion were patterned after the three famous portrayers from the 1939 musical film of "Oz", Ray Bolger, Jack Haley and Bert Lahr.
- The episode's title derives from "The Land of Oz" which was originally created in 1900 by Lyman Frank Baum.
- Batman, Robin, The Wonder Twins and Gleek have minor roles in this episode. Jayna has a non-speaking cameo.
