Episode Lengths: reruns of the 30 minute adventures
The year 1982 was not very good years for the Super Friends, let alone any Super Hero shows. Our heroes continued on ABC starting off the Saturday morning lineup with reruns titled The Best of the Super Friends.
It would only show reruns of the 30 minute adventures. None of the seven minute shorts were rebroadcast.
Although this season did not feature any new episodes, the Superfriends did appear in a TV advertisement from Post Cereals, where they face off against the supervillain known as Icicle.
The only competition they had was on NBC with the new animated adventures of the Incredible Hulk series and season two of Spiderman and His Amazing Friends.
Unfortunately in 1983, the Super Friends were removed from Saturday mornings entirely on American television. That same time, reruns of the series were syndicated to local stations weekday afternoons, which ran from mid-1983 until 1986. The hour-long episodes were split into two parts.
