Doctor Frankenstein once created a creature that was made of tar.[2]
In 1984, while on a rescue mission on Apokolips to save Wonder Woman; when Firestorm encountered Darkseid's Drones, which he referred to as the "reception committee," he used his molecular powers to transform the ground into tar so that they would be stuck.[3]
