History[]
Earth 1956[]
After returning to their car in the grocery store's parking lot, Azel told her dad that they forgot the peanut butter. She then asked if they could get Superman Peanut Butter. He told her "our brand's fine, honey." But just then, Superman arrived with a jar of Superman Peanut Butter and asked him if he'd ever tasted it before. He was surprised at how much he enjoyed it. As he was reading the jar, he even thought it was impressive that it had the seal of approval from Good Housekeeping magazine. Superman took to flight, telling him that it was nutritious as well.[2]
Somewhere in an average American household, a mother uses a butter knife to spread Superman Peanut Butter onto a piece of sliced bread, which she gives to her daughter, who then eats it and likes it. She later gives some to her son as well, who likewise was happy to have some. Sometime later, even the father gets into the peanut butter and dips what appears to be a cracker into the jar and eats it. Sometime afterward, the entire family go outside on their front porch and see Superman flying through the sky! They then point in his direction as they watch him disappear into the horizon.[3]
While Superman was in a jail cell in Lex Luthor's dungeon, Luthor used a peanut butter jar and dipped a Ritz cracker into it and ate it. He was attempting to interrogate the Man of Steel, who was weakened by Green Kryptonite; to tell him the secret behind Superman peanut butter. He was rescued by a girl and two boys, who fashioned a rope into a lasso, grabbing the Kryptonite and throwing it into a lead box. Afterwards, Superman put Luthor in the cage and sat outside for a picnic eating peanut butter and bread.[4]
