A star system or solar system was a place in a galaxy where planets, asteroids, planetoids, comets and other worlds circled around at least one star, which served as the "primary" astronomical object of the star system.
There were many star systems, perhaps billions in the Milky Way Galaxy alone, and space itself had billions upon billions of galaxies, which also had billions upon billions of star systems within each one.
