Remote control

Superman shows the rest of the Superfriends a balloon with a miniaturized remote control.[1]

A remote control was a type of technology that allowed a person to operate a machine using a radio transmitted signal.

For example, such a device made it possible to turn on a television set without having to leave one's own chair to turn the power on. It could similarly be used to increase or decrease the TV's volume, as well as changing the channel to a different TV station.

Some remote control devices were also used to open garage doors. Marvin White's father had a remote capable of doing that.[2]

History

Earth-1A

When Marvin White and Wendy Harris were on the island known as Malaba trying to figure out how to out how to get into Kolbar's laboratory, Marvin realized that getting the door open must have been possible by some kind of remote control located inside of Kolbar's spaceship.[3]

Doctor Lucius LeBon and his assistant named Wilbur used remote control balloons as part of their criminal scheme involving the theft of diamonds that Doctor LeBon thought were a capable of powering his Planet-Splitter.[4]
