Rao, the Sun-God
Rao, the Sun-God
Real name: Rao
Species: Kryptonian God
Homeworld: Rao
Universe: Earth-One

Rao, the Sun-God was the personification of the sun known by the same name: Rao.

He was the principle deity of the Kryptonian people. Followers of Rao, known as Raoists; were common on Krypton, although not everyone believed in Rao, and despite how much Raoism influenced their culture, even those claiming to be the most devout followers preferred to live under a government ruled by science and technology.

Thus the Kryptonian Science Council came into existence, and although symbols of Rao even existed as images on the inner walls of the Hall of Wisdom, much of his teachings were left behind.[1]
