A ramp was a road or another structure that was inclined at an angle, allowing anyone driving on it to be elevated to a higher location.
Ramps could be used for a variety of purposes, such as loading or unloading cargo onto a truck, or for evacuating an airplane.

In 74 AD, the use of a ramp played an important role in the Siege of Masada.
In 1989, a history teacher confuses this event with the Gaulish Rebellion.[2]
