The Prohibition Era was a period of history in the United States in which the production and distribution of alcoholic beverages was against the law. It began in 1920 and ended in 1933. Al Capone was a well-known criminal during this time.
Rupert Thorne had committed crimes during this period, and when he was picked up by the Ohio State Patrol in the late 1970s, he confessed all those crimes and more.[2]
