The Polar People was a race of Humans that lived in a civilization beneath the North Pole.
They possessed fairly advanced technology compared to the Humans that lived on the surface.
Known members of this race[]
Technology[]
Most of their technology didn't seem to be particularly that much more advanced then that of the 20th century Surface Dwellers, but perhaps slightly more advanced. They possessed sub-zero lasers that were at least as advanced as the freeze rays used by Mister Freeze, Captain Cold and the Icicle.
Plus, it's noteworthy to mention, that they apparently had this technology for thousands of years, because they were supposedly the ones responsible for the Earth's previous Ice Ages.
Their fleet consisted of Iceberg ships, and aboard those ships, they had iceberg tanks as well.
Culture[]
Not much is known of their culture, although they wore clothing that resembled ancient Scandinavian cultures, such as the Vikings, which they were no doubt closely related to.
Considering they were extremely untrustworthy of any Human that lived above the North Pole, or "Surface Dweller," as they called them; one might assume that the majority of them were a bit racist as well, although to assume that all of Torrana's People were racist would be racist in itself, but Torrana himself obviously clearly was, as was the others supporting his cause.
Also, rather than riding horses, they used mammoths for that purpose instead.
History[]
Earth 1956[]
In ancient times, the Polar People used their advanced freezing technology to create Ice Ages on the surface, to keep the "Surface Dwellers," as they called them; from advancing too much, as they feared that they would become a danger to the ecological balance of the Earth.
By the 20th century, it was once again believed that the people living on the surface were becoming a threat to Earth once again. As such, Torrana led an Iceberg Fleet to the surface to create another Ice Age with their freeze rays.
They were ultimately defeated by the Super Friends, and the Earth was thawed out, bringing the Ice Age to a quick halt.[2]
