Pittsdale was a town located in Winnebago County, in the U.S. state of Iowa, one hundred-twenty miles north of Des Moines. The Winnebago River flows through this town.

In 1990, Pittsdale was a small farming community. It had less than five hundred residents, most of whom worked in the field of agriculture. This town was known for little more than its' peace and quiet. The town itself was one block long, and the town's mayor was also Pittsdale's full-time veterinarian.

Lois Lane, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist that worked for the Metropolis Daily Planet, was a native of Pittsdale.[2]
