Jayna mentioning a certain "thousand men" that was killed by Samson was a reference to the Philistines.[1]
The Philistines were an ancient race of Humans that were at war with the Israelites about ten hundred years before the 1st century.
According to the Book of Judges, Samson used his super strength to beat one thousand Philistines to death with the jawbone of an ass.[2]
Zan once mentioned this when he and Jayna; who were being influenced mentally by the Overlord, that Seraph had strength much like Samson did.[3]
