Paul Levitz was a writer, editor and publisher for DC Comics starting with freelance work he did in 1972.

From 2002-2009 he was the president of the company.[1]

Levitz was responsible for hiring writers such as Marv Wolfman and Alan Moore; as well as artists such as George Pérez and Keith Giffen.

He is perhaps best known for his work with the Legion of Super-Heroes, particularly the Great Darkness Saga in 1982.

Levitz also appeared in a number of videos, such as Super Friends Redux: Galactic Guardians and The Dark Knight Revisited.


  1. Jenette Kahn was the president prior to Levitz, however she left the company for good after stepping down.
