Microwave oven

Two little girls cooking their kitten in a microwave oven.[1]

A microwave oven was a type of oven that used microwaves for cooking.

They became very popular and common by the 1970s.

In Little Rock, Arkansas; Cheryl and Loni Williams put their kitten in a microwave oven, "playing with it."[2]

In 1988, Hector Davis, on an episode of his TV show Metropolis Exposed; suggested that the Pyramids of Egypt might actually have been giant microwave ovens.[3]
