Junk, also called trash, garbage, waste and many other names; was anything that was discarded by people.
Garbage trucks were generally used to transport junk from a person's house to the Gotham City Dump or somewhere similar.
Garbage cans or similar containers were used to store junk until it could be picked up by a garbage truck driver.

When Noah Tall and Twisty were attempting to kidnap the Krim family, they used their Sea Sucker to suck them out of the ocean, but instead of getting the Balunians, they ended up with junk, because Krim, Gloma and Plinky believed that the tube was meant to clean up the bottom of the sea by collecting all of the junk.[2]
