Orville Gump disguised as Jimmy Olsen
James "Jimmy" Olsen, Sr. was cub-reporter and photographer for the Daily Planet in the '60s and '70s. He is Superman's pal, and a close friend of Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Once, Lex Luthor's henchman Orville Gump, disguised himself as Jimmy Olsen so as to fool Lois Lane.[1] At some point, Jimmy has a son, Jimmy Olsen, Jr. His son eventually follows in his footsteps and becomes a cub-reporter at the Daily Planet after James Olsen, Sr. moves on.[2]

- ↑ This is conjecture based on the fact that in the Superman cartoon, Jimmy is still portrayed as a teenager, twenty years after his appearances in the '60s. By assuming that he is actually "Jimmy Jr." rather than the original Jimmy, one can eliminate that incongruity. And the conjecture that he is a junior is not too far fetched, since the DC Animated Universe version of Jimmy was also a junior.
