History[]
It should be noted that the Jim Harper of Earth-One and his doppelgänger of Earth-Two have very similar histories at least up until the post-World War II era, but some details may differ.
During the 1940s, the Guardian was active on the streets of Suicide Slum, and also was a member of the Newsboy Legion and the All-Star Squadron during World War II. His superhero career continued up until his retirement.
Eventually he died, but his body was cloned by Project Cadmus, who was then known as DNA Project, which was a biogenetic engineering research center based at Cadmus Labs outside Metropolis. The rest of the Newsboy Legion were cloned as well.
His newly cloned body was far superior to his original, and though he had died, he retained the memories of his genetic template. He also possessed superhuman abilities. He became Chief of Security of Project Cadmus.
