Jet Cargo 847 was a cargo jet bound for the Harbor City Airport.
The aircraft was bombarded by Doctor Hiram Gulliver's Sonic Microwave Reducer, which caused the pilot to shrink, making him too small to operate the airplane and therefore causing the vehicle to spiral earthward.
Superman saves the vehicle from crashing by catching it and landing it safely.[2]
