Captain Marvel was a superhero who was granted the courage of Achilles, making him an excellent example of a character with Indomitable Will.[1]
Indomitable Will was the ability to control one's emotions in a logical manner so as to resist one's own fears and thus commit courageous acts of bravery, even when one's own life could be in danger of coming to an end as a result of such a heroic action.
Such willpower was necessary when facing terrible threats from supervillains, especially powerful villains like Darkseid, Starro, Atrocitus and many other extraterrestrial threats.
In fact, willpower was essential for a person to wield a Green Lantern Ring, as it was will that caused the wearer to create energy constructs with his or her ring.
