A hovercraft was a type of vehicle that was capable of hovering due to some sort of air cushion.
They could be piloted on land and also on water.
They presumably existed on many worlds, including Earth and Colu.[2]

When Electro tried to take over the Earth during the 1970s, his main ground transportation was his own personal hovercraft.[3]
