A hose was a type of rubber pipe, usually used for spraying water. For example, a hose in a garden was often used for watering flowers and other plants.

Aquaman once used a hose in an attempt to keep a fire from losing control, which was caused by burning rocket fuel from the Mars 1. Despite his efforts to put out the fire, he only slowed it down, and the rocket still exploded, but Superman was able to throw the rocket into space before that happened, saving everyone at the United States Space Center.[2]
