Homing device

Batman holding a homing device.[1]

A homing device, also called a tracking device; was a type of gadget that was used for tracking the movement of someone.

Typically they were equipped with a radio transmitter, which could be placed on whatever it was someone was trying to keep tabs on, and then the radio receiver was used to follow the radio signal coming from the radio transmitter, thus leading whoever planted it on that someone directly to their target.

Batman had such gadgetry in his Bat-Belt. Robin also had such technology in his Utility Belt as well.

History

Earth-1A

Circa 1976, the Justice League of America kept tabs on diamonds from different parts of the Earth by placing micro-dot transmitters on the diamonds.[2]

In 1985, Batman planted a homing device on the flying card of the King of Clubs.[3]
