The holidays was usually any day in which a festival was observed; which was often times annually, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Generally holidays were times when people were allowed time off from their occupations, and it was often times paid time off.
Although minor holidays happened throughout the entire year, the main holiday season generally started in late November and ended in early January, although this varied from place to place.
Carnivals, parades and parties were common events that occurred during the holiday season.
