History[]

Earth 1956[]

At times, an image of what appeared to be Satan could be seen as a magical illusion on Warlock's ruby.[1]

In 1979, when the Superman of an alternate universe came to the realization that he was no longer on his own Earth, he said "Great Satan! The eruption must have blown me into a parallel universe of Good!"[2]

Satan[3]

Ebenezer Batson, a loan shark that just happened to be the uncle of Billy Batson (who in reality was the superhero known as Captain Marvel); made a pact with Satan.

Billy encountered his uncle and Satan together at his uncle's mansion. Upon confronting them, Satan summons six of his champions from Hell to do battle with Captain Marvel. He fights Abaddon, Antaeus, Old Age, Legion, Truth and Medea; all of whom he defeats. Satan then retreats to the Netherworld, but not before telling Captain Marvel that they will meet again.[4]

Universe of Evil[]

In 1979, a statue of the face of Satan or some other devil or demon was on the Hall of Evil, which was the headquarters of the Super Enemies, the doppelgängers of the Super Friends from the Universe of Good.[5]

Notes[]
