Alien insects that were biologically similar to Earth termites.[1]
A termite was a type of insect that often fed on wood and other dead plant materials.
It was assumed that all species of termites were Earthlings, however since there were also termites on Venus, this doesn't seem to be the case.
Every Earth variety of termite was nothing more than dumb animals, however Venusian termites were at least close to Human-level intelligence.
Since at least one variety of termite was extraterrestrial, it's impossible to know for sure where the termite homeworld might have been, it could have been Earth or Venus or some other world for that matter.

In 1980, a species of alien termites attempted to devour much of the Earth.
They were stopped by the Super Friends and sent into space toward the asteroid belt.[2]
