Kryptonian mushrooms are a type of fungus which grew on the planet known as Krypton prior to her destruction.
Many spores from these mushrooms survived the destruction of Krypton, and some hitched a ride on a chunk of Kryptonite that landed on the property of the Martingale family, who keep the sky stone as a family good luck piece. The unique properties of these mushrooms made it impossible for the Raven to use his white dwarf to snatch up and carry away the kryptonite from the Martingale family.[2]
