A con artist was a person who made a profession out of gaining someone's trust and exploiting them, often using dishonesty as a means to an end, especially in fraudulent business practices.

Roy La Post, aka King Plasto was a con artist. And when he conned the captain of the S.S. Sea Dragon, Styro said that he did a brilliant con job.[2]
