The Appellaxians were a humanoid alien race from a planet called Appellax.
The champions of their race had power levels that were comparable to the Justice League's superhuman abilities, although they were very different.
When they invaded the Earth in the 20th century, the combined might of several superheroes repelled the alien invasion. Those heroes decided to band together as the Justice League of America.[2]
