Wonder Woman trapped inside a fairy tale, an excellent example of fiction.[1]
Fiction was a genre of literature, film or any other form of entertainment that presented a story along with characters that were not real.
There were a variety of different types of fiction, such as science fiction, horror fiction, fantasy, mystery and many other genres.
Cartoons, comics, television shows and movies[]
Most films and television series were complete works of fiction, the same can be said of most comics and cartoons. If anything, such art forms might have been loosely "based on a true story," but hardly ever entirely true.
Cartoons for example, usually had animal characters such as Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny, that were anthropomorphic and even capable of speech like a Human.
Still, despite their status as fictional characters in the so-called real world, there were other worlds, such as parallel universes, in which talking animals actually existed. One such Earth was known as Earth-C.
Also, although Superman was a real person on Earth 1956 and most other Earths in the multiverse, there were a few, where even he was considered a work of fiction. This included Earth-11285 and at least a couple others.
In fact, on Earth-11285 for example, and a few others as well; Superman was nothing more than a comic book character that starred in the pages of Action Comics. There were even certain parallel dimensions where the whole Justice League were fictional cartoon characters from a TV show called SuperFriends (1973-1985).[2]
There were even some characters that existed in realities where they were aware that they were actually fictional characters. They were even able to break the fourth wall on occasion. For example, on Earth-SGC2C cartoons actually lived among real people. For example, Space Ghost of that Earth was a cartoon, and he was even aware that he was. Sometimes even continuity between stories were inconsistent as well.
