An explosive was a device that was designed to explode when set off by someone. Explosives were used for a variety of things, such as mining, however they are also used in warfare as bombs.
They are also used in the construction field for demolition.
Explosion
An explosion was what resulted in the detonation of an explosive. An explosion could also be anything else that exploded, such as volcanoes or supernovas. The term explosion was also used to refer to an incredible increase of something, such as a "booming" economy or unemployment; or a drastic increase in population, which was referred to as the population explosion.[2] Even a sharp sound such as a sonic boom could be referred to as an explosion.
