Earth's capital city was a domed city that was under constant attack by would-be invaders known as the Barlocks.

The dome protected the human population from these Barlocks at least since the year 3784, and it wasn't until the year 3984, that they were able to enter the city due to outside assistance from the Legion of Doom, a group of time travelling supervillains from the 20th century.[1]
