Aquaman and his doppelgänger.[1]

Doppelgänger (or counterpart) was a German word used to describe any individual that resembled someone else.

For example, the Superman of Earth-One resembled a younger version of the Superman of Earth-Two, making them doppelgängers.

Throughout the multiverse, there were many other versions of the Man of Steel as well as other superheroes on various parallel Earths, all of whom would have been considered doppelgängers.

As previously mentioned, the word counterpart could also be used to describe a doppelgänger, as that word can refer to a "copy of a person or thing."

In many instances androids and clones have been created to act as doppelgängers of various characters.[2]
