Daxamite

A Daxamite.[1]

Daxamites were a humanoid alien race that was native to the planet Daxam.

They were a subspecies of Kryptonians, that descended from settlers of the planet Daxam, that left Krypton to establish themselves on a new world.

Since they were genetic relatives of Kryptonians, they too possessed similar abilities.

History of the Daxamites[]

Their history can be traced back to ancient Krypton. Their ancestors were actually Kryptonians, with whom they descended from. The Daxamites were fearful of other alien races, and they were once revered throughout the universe for holding the leading edge in the field of biogenetic engineering. By the 30th century however, the Daxamites were conquered by the master of Apokolips, Darkseid. Darkseid made the planet over in his own dark and twisted image before the planet was liberated by the Legion of Super-Heroes in what has become known as the Great Darkness War.

Every man, woman and child on Daxam was later slain in a cataclysm created by Glorith, the mistress of time. The only survivors were Laurel Gand of the Legion of Super-Heroes, and Lar Gand, a Daxamite hero from the 20th century. Along with several other Legionaires, including Saturn Girl, Brainiac 5, Duo Damsel, and Green Lantern Rond Vidar, the Gands avenged their people by defeating Glorith and banishing her to the end of time.[2]

Weakness[]

  • Lead: They are weakened by lead, this is the reason why they are so afraid of alien cultures, since lead is a common metal on most worlds throughout the universe.[3]
