DC Comics Inc. was a comic book publisher located in the United States of America. The letters "DC" were used to name the company because one of the publisher's most popular comics was Detective Comics, which "DC" stood for.[2]
The mascot for DC Comics was Johnny DC, who appeared in advertisements throughout various issues of DC Comics publications. There were a variety of imprints of DC Comics Inc.; such as Vertigo Comics and WildStorm.

Earth 1956[]

There was a comic book based on the superhero known as Plastic Man that was published by DC Comics Inc. circa 1979.[4]
On one occasion, Fangpuss bit Plastic Man's foot while he was posing for a picture with a background that made it appear he was on the cover of a comic book. He told the little werewolf: "Hey wait a second, I'm one of the good guys, remember?"[5]
Earth-Thirty-Two[]
In 1984, a man by the name of Shmidlapp was an inker for that company who found the deadlines stressful for him, as his job was quite demanding. He was told by his boss that he had two weeks.
It was then that Darkseid was on Earth, enjoying a himself on the planet that he planned to eventually rule. When Shmidlapp ran into Darkseid at the offices of the comic book company, he was surprised by his frightful appearance.[6]

Real World[]
On this Earth, DC Comics Inc. also existed in New York. Circa 2000; Mr. Mxyzptlk and Bat-Mite caught a glimpse of the offices of DC Comics when they traveled to this reality.[7]
