Déjà vu was the nearly unmistakable feeling that a person had been somewhere or done something before.
Generally such a thing was a certainty, although it couldn't be explained by the person with the feeling as to why, where or when such a thing supposedly occurred.
This was often due to an almost psychic connection to ones' doppelgänger from an alternate timeline or parallel universe.
Such a feeling could occur due to the results of time travel or space warps that lead to alternate universes.
It could also have been due to certain character's retrocognitive or precognitive abilities.
Although rare, this feeling that one got was often unsettling to most Humans or species who were used to perceiving time in a more linear way.
