Crystalloids[1]

The Crystalloids were an alien race of crystalline humanoids that were native to a planetoid located somewhere in the sol system.

The Crystalloids mainly inhabited the dark side of the planetoid, while the Rubberoids; whom they were at war with, occupied the other side of the world.

The Crystalloids had an artificial sun generator in their fortress, which was capable of creating artificial suns, which they used to attack their enemies on the other side of their homeworld as well as Earth.

It was when they attacked Earth that Superboy's attention was brought to their world. Superboy and Krypto then flew to the planetoid and rescued some Rubberoid hostages and destroyed their fortress, which the Rubberoids believed would take them at least two thousand years to rebuild.[2]
