This codfish was part of a group of migrating fish that were endangered by a red tide.
Although Aquaman was able to protect them from the red tide, he didn't count on a famine developing as a result of it.[3]

During the famine, this codfish told Aquaman that the fish are doomed, because if they leave, that could be disastrous, but if they stay, they would starve.[4]
