The Calorians were a race of gorillas native to the planet known as Calor.
Unlike Earth gorillas, which man were believed to have evolved from; the opposite was apparently the case on their world, where their original form was a primitive, yellow-skinned, Human-like appearance that evolved into apes.
A group of Calorians left their seemingly backward planet and colonized the planet Earth in the sol system. That colony was Gorilla City.
