Black people were Humans that had light brown to black colored skin, and were usually of African descent.
The term was also used to describe Kryptonians that had dark colored skin, such as the natives of Vathlo Island.

Throughout history, Americans who had black skin were referred to as either African-Americans, or colored people, depending on preference or which was considered politically correct at the time.
