The Black Hole of Calcutta was a prison located in the Indian city of Calcutta.
When Jimmy Olsen showed his pictures he had taken from an alien spacecraft to Perry White, the chief observed that the pictures were too dark to see any image, and he described them as "night photography in the Black Hole of Calcutta.[1]
