The Big Mac sandwich was one of the signature burgers sold at McDonald's.
It was first introduced in the Greater Pittsburgh area in 1967 and then nationwide the following year.
The condiments used on it were Thousand Island dressing, iceberg lettuce, American cheese, pickles and onions; which was served on a three-part sesame seed bun.

Circa 1986, three of Batman's enemies; Killer Croc, Riddler and Poison Ivy, ordered some fast food from McDonald's. They each had a sandwich, fries and a soft drink. Riddler's sandwich was a Big Mac, which was chopped into pieces by Catwoman's whip.[2]
