Powers and Abilities[]
Super Powers[]
- Muppet Physiology: As a Muppet, he wasn't...exactly...Human....not in the strictest sense at least. He had yellow skin and an orange nose that could be removed from his face...still, he had didn't really have any real super powers as a result of being a Muppet...he just looked different.
Abilities[]
- Reading: Bert was fascinated by the ABCs, as he loved words. Because of this, he was an avid reader of books. He also enjoyed a television program called The Man from Alphabet, which further revealed his interest in his ABCs.
- Dance: Speaking of pigeons, he even had a dance number that he would dance to that mimicked the movements of pigeons.
- Singing: As stated above, he had a musical dance number that he sang about pigeons.
Weaknesses[]
- Temper Tantrums: Bert was a very organized person, but his roommate Ernie was quite the reverse, and as such, he was under a lot of pressure. Sometimes this could cause him to lose his cool, often times causing him to throw a tantrum. He rarely reacted violently, although he did raise his voice to unpleasantly loud levels while shouting: Errrrnnnniiiieee!!...occasionally he did that.
- Fainting: Sometimes Ernie's shenanigans were just too much for Bert to cope with consciously. So he would just pass out from the stress.
- Detachable Nose: Sometimes Bert's nose would get knocked off of his face. Apparently it wasn't all that easy to reattach it.
- Obsession: Calling this an "obsession" may be a bit of an exaggeration, but Bert was clearly a "neat freak," and he was insistent that things remained orderly and organized in his life. He also seemed to be very fond of collecting bottlecaps and eating oatmeal, which may or may not have been an obsession.
History[]
Earth-72169[]
At their apartment, Bert and Ernie were in an argument over what to watch on TV. Bert wanted to watch The Man from Alphabet and Ernie wanted to watch Batman. After the argument persisted for a little while, Batman finally interrupted them, speaking to them through the TV screen and asking them who they watched yesterday. They both admitted that it was Batman, and so Batman told them they might as well take turns...telling Ernie that it's only fair to watch The Man from Alphabet today, and they can both watch Batman tomorrow. Bert is happy and they watch the show and Bert starts moving his head to the music of the show.[1]
