The Batropes were Batman and Robin's personal ropes that they kept in their utility belts.
The Batlines were the most commonly used Batropes, which the Dynamic Duo used to climb with, as it was attached to the bathook, which was a grappling hook that they used for scaling buildings. Often times they threw the bathook by hand, but if the rooftop was too high up, they usually used their Bat-Grappling Guns to shoot the bathook and batrope at the roof.
Other Batropes that they used were for tying up criminals, which they often did whenever they left them for the police to pick up after they had defeated them.
There were even batropes with bathooks that could shoot from the Batmobile, hooking to a supervillain's getaway car, and slowing them down as the brakes were applied to the Batmobile.
