Batman - The Animated Series

Batman: The Animated Series which was later known as The Adventures of Batman & Robin and The New Batman Adventures was a television show that originally aired on Fox Kids. Although it featured a version of Batman whose voice is provided by Kevin Conroy, it's not the Batman from Earth-1A, as this show takes place in a separate continuity. In fact, this show takes place in the same universe as Static Shock. Batman has even guest starred in that series.

Mattel produced a Batgirl Barbie doll that was at least occasionally advertised as a Superfriends toy, however it was clearly modeled after the version of the character from Batman: The Animated Series.

Ties to the Super Friends Franchise[]

Although set in a separate universe, the show featured characters familiar to Super Fans, but given a new take. Sometimes Batman's bat-signal on his chest would have the colors inverted. This was done as a joke alluding to the Filmation and Superfriends series, which on many occasions had wild animation errors like that in it.

Batman: The Animated Series also aired on networks or was available on streaming services that the Superfriends or related material was also available on. Among these are Cartoon Network, DC UNIVERSE and HBO Max. Also, many of the DVD releases from Warner Home Video were part of the DC Comics Classic Collection, just as the DVDs of the Superfriends were.

Details[]

Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Batman Beyond all take place on Earth-12.
