An asteroid was an astronomical body that was similar to planetoids and planets. There were many different asteroids located in the solar system and the greater galaxy, as well as the rest of outer space.
A large concentration of asteroids was often called an asteroid field or an asteroid belt. The sol system even had an asteroid belt.
One notable asteroid was the Spacemen Homeworld, which was located a few thousand miles away from Earth.[2]
